Welcome.
Fartcan racing is an Online sim racing community, a few guys who started out racing with no Sim racing experience and found that the major race leagues are packed with experienced Sim Racerss who’ve been doing this for years and as a result we found it difficult to be competitive, so we decided to create a Race League for those starting out or those who are not at the pointy end ...

How to setup your Car

Post by Nibiru on Fri 30 Oct - 12:00

I often get asked "How do you set up a car"? That is a great question..and I wish it was a simple answer. Part of it comes down to your individual feel for the car, the way you control the car be it through keyboard, gamepad, or wheel, the car you are driving and also your skill level.

Everyone feels and drives the car a bit differently. What might work for one may not work for another. The main thing is that before you start playing with a setup, you must be able to do consistent laps first, and know the track so you can then get an accurate assessment of the times your running, and see if the changes you make are positive or negative. I also think once you have a setup you feel comfortable with for each mod, you stick with it and only make Minor changes between tracks starting with gear ratio.

Here is a link to a very useful thread that will help you understand what to tweak to let you setup your car the way you want it.

You can download a PDF of it here so you can print it out.

Thanks Nib that's a great tool.
I'm running a Cortina in the XGN series due to stat next week with no assists but using a setup so this will be invaluable.
